You might want to download the Windows Media Player SDK from Microsoft.
I believe that playback of these files is organized in an Advanced Streaming Redirector File (ASX). Information in standard ASX tags such as title and author are accessible only while the track is playing. Calling the GetMediaInfoString method will retrieve the information contained in an ASX tag from the Media Player control as a string variable.
