I think you misunderstand me. I use only optimistic table buffering. That is:

CURSORSETPROP( 'Buffering', 5, 'MyAlias' )

My issue is not that you are using optimistic locking. It is that you are using Row buffering.

I think that row buffering causes too much aggravation to be useful in an application environment.
