>ACPI stands for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. If you have a new IBM based laptop i would be surprised if it did not have ACPI support. There is only the one version of Windows ME but if it does not support your particular laptops ACPI hardware then you are kind of up the creek. Check your device manager to see if you have any conflict devices showing up. You may just need to reinstall the ACPI support devices.
