Hi Renoir,
I use optimistic row buffering on file maintenance forms where there is typically too much information to display/enter in a grid/table format, where I want the safety of saving each record edit immediately.
On forms where grids are used for data entry (typically child record entry for me), Ill use optimistic table buffering so things are handled as a group.
Ive also had better luck using optimistic table buffering when using updatable views as my data source in wizard generated file maintenance forms, particularly when there is a generated (ex: key=key+1) primary key involved.
So there you have it. Hope this has been helpful to you in some way...
Regards,
Todd
