The client I am currently working for just threw me a curve when I was almost done developing a fairly complex form. The form has 6 comboboxes that the user will select various data elements from. This all works fine. When I started to demo it to the client I moved to the first combobox and typed in the value I wanted (1). When he saw this, he stopped me right there and said that the users cannot select the values that way. They must open the dropdown list and select it using the mouse. I have never had such a request. He insists that it must be done this way so that the user actually looks at the list and does not just type in values.

I have the comboboxes set as dropdown lists so the only values that can be typed in have to be in the list, but that is not good enough. Is there any way to prevent keyboard input into a combobox? I think I could possibly simulate the desired behavior by activating a listbox or some type of popup menu, but have never done anything like that before.

Any suggestions????
