Yes, I understand that. Being purist, I don't like this process of simplifying, but this is our life. I guess, some grammar constructions also become obsolete (is it correct to use this word here?) now.

BTW, I have two grammar problems, which I'd like to ask your help about.

The first problem with "that" and "what". For some strange reason, I always mix, which one I have to use in which context. Could somebody please explain it for me?

Another problem is with this construction (I forgot, how it's called).

If I were you, I would do it this way. - Is this sentence correct from grammar point of view?

How to say in opposite: If you was (???) a king, you would do such and such things...
