I guess I must feel lucky because here in the Netherlabds, we *can* have communications without layers lurking around, but I fear that this will not last for long.

Amen. The last time I deployed a solid, perfect application was in the days when '10 Print "UniversalThread" 20 run' was the standard *s*
Nowadays, I will try to get rid of as many bugs as possible that I, as a mere human, can get rid of. (Maybe creating some new bugs, as stated in the law of sustained trouble)
Any help that can improve my s/n (signal / noise) ratio is okay in my book, just like the knowledge to improve my thinking about coding.
Both can (I hope *s*) improve the quality of my applications though, so for me there is no (real) difference.
