Unfortunately, I think this is now part of society as a whole, both over here & over there, looks have become far more important than quality.
You might know what cars look cool, but do you know which cars are the most reliable, the most fuel efficient, etc. If all you want to do is sit & pose, then cool is probably important, but if you've got work to do, then looking cool shouldn't even enter the equation.
