Alexander,

The application does not declare any objects until after a certain button on the main form is clicked, and the object it uses (word.application) does indeed exists on the target win2k box, and is used by another application that runs fine on that box.

The app is so simple I just don't understand why it won't work. As far as startup goes, it simply defines and sets a few variables, and runs a form. It does nothing else until a button on the form gets pushed, but I can't even get that far.

In case it makes any difference, the target box does not have vfp runtimes installed on it, but they are placed in the directory the executable is in, and it has run fine that way on win95, win98, and winnt 4 for this same user in the past.

Also, Cetin, the form does have a caption in it's properties, so you would think it would show up in the applications list. It does show up there in winnt 4.

regards,

JE

>>If I double click the icon for the app, I get a busy cursor for just a couple of seconds, but the app doesn't appear to launch. A look into the running processes for the win2k box however, shows that a copy of the executable is runnning as a process, but it does NOT show up as a running application.
