Curtis,

>You have Limbaugh's success as a radio talk show host, not as a football commentator. Big difference.

Sure, but your analogy is apples & oranges as Rush hasn't had the chance to do the football commenting. I say when Miller tanks <g> let's try Rush and then check the factual (i.e. ratings) differences. I'd wager at that point we could reasonably determine the issues, eh? Not giving Rush a chance to do the commentary and then saying he'd be no good at it if he did it is disingenuous at best.

>And, yes, I'd prefer Dan Rather not have a stated agenda. He is not doing op-ed he is reporting straight news. (Granted some bias slips in, but by and large he is not commenting on it.) Again, big difference.

He decides what goes on the air. He waited some 82 days before being forced to mention the Chandra Levy case. Missing person, sitting US Congressman, possible foul play, two + weeks before admitting affair thereby possibly obstructing justice by said Congressman. Nope.. No news there. <g>

ANd then on Chris Matthew's program "Hardball" he says someone "got a case of the buckwheats", for which similar language Jimmy the Greek was run out of town.

Double standards.. Nahhh... Why Dan Rather is objective! <g>

Fine with me. <g>
