that depends on what term emu you are using... Some out there allow for
complete ole control of it, in that case then you could use your vfp app, to call up your term emu application and run whatever script you use to download the file.

After doing this using Reflections, I found it was much simplier to just use my term emu, from the task scheduler, script the download, to a specific directory, and then every day, check the file data (using vfp) to see if there was a downlaod, and run whatever merge I needed. if the file on the network share was not new, I use VFP to automatically send me an email, telling me of a the download error.

Another way I use VFP to connect to mainframes is using ODBC, that way I get VFP cursors ready to sort, extract, without then going through the process of downloading them at all.

I use the task scheduler for almost all these type of functions, to shoot off at midnight or whenever I know there is going to be fresh data on the mainframe.
These solutions work for me.
Hope this helps.

>WE are currently running a Bluezone mainframe. Right now the user goes into
the mainframe and downloads files from the mainframe to their hard drive. Does anyone know of a way I can use vfp 6.0 to automatically perform this action; connect to the mainframe, download the files and disconnect from the mainframe?
In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
