If you can pay a developer in NZ$, you'll be paying the equivalent of 30 pence or 40US cents. A very good developer getting (say) NZ$50,000 - NZ$70,000 is therefore being paid US$20,000 to $30,000 per annum.
Suffice to say we still do most development in New Zealand.
