Exhaustion of one of the fixed-size Windows resources, most likely the GDI. If he's running Win9x/ME, and he runs in high=resolution with lots of fonts and desktop objects installed, and lots of open Windows the odds are that the GDI resource is exceeding the 64K limit which applies to all WinApps running on the system. Running under WinNT or Win2K would likely fix this - both allow a GDI resource of 64K for each WinApp.

They can check the state of the resource stacks using the Resource Meter (Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Resource Meter.) If the resource stacks are becoming exhausted, have them reduce the screen resolution, remove unneeded fonts or run with fewer open Windows and see if the problem goes away.

>Thanks VERY MUCH in advance for any help!
