Maybe that's all to the good.

Having done voluntary work with the RNIB, I can understand the frustration felt by visually impaired people in using modern s/w. Much of the design is based on use by visually & physically able people, without any concern for anyone else. Accessibility aids only go so far in helping & if the application design is poor, they can make using the application harder.
