This is because I added a new textbox without any methods and with the same properties shown and the behaviour continues. I've noticed that this problem occurs only in textboxes that have empty values. Does this make any difference?

1) What methods are you using?
2) To make sure that the behavior is not related to your methods, take all method code out, and then put them back in one at a time. IF the problem is with one of your methods (say, something like NODEFAULT in GotFocus() or some similar method), you will, at least, know that, indeed, the problem is in your methods, and you will know in which one.
Hilmar.
