>I think I have received no less than 20 different emails with this worm.
I've received it 9 times. Yesterday, I got two of them in Spanish (from Columbia, according to the mail headers).
>Today, if folks don't have NaV (Norton Anti-Virus), they're nuts!!
I don't run any virus scanner. I have one on hand that I use to scan word files and the like from the third parties. I make backups all the time and am ready to rebuild my system at the drop of the hat. To me, an always resident virus scanner is much more trouble than it's worth. Much better to be extremely prudent with which files you're willing to open.
Anyone who sends me a legitimate exe as an attachment with no specific explanation as to its content gets a tongue lashing, and the file doesn't get opened. I am fortunate enough to have enough knowledge about viruses to keep me out of hot water thus far. I haven't been bitten personally since college, despite the carnage raining down all around me. Two of my clients have been brought to their knees this week by viruses, despite their scanning software.
