>>I have just begun a project at my work designing, of course a database using foxpro. I have disigned the user interface screens and am now ready to begin coding. Problem: I have never coded in xBase. I have coded in C++ however, and understand classes and inheritance, but just getting started is my main problem any advice would be helpful in creating my MAIN, and any other comments that may be helpful.

>I'll save you a headache and some flames in the newsgroups. When you get the problem of "In the development environment, everything works fine, but when I compile and runn the program, the first screen/main window just flashes for a second and closes." It is because you forgot the READ EVENTS.

One theing I do in development is make every part of a project a 'stand alone' in VFP. It requires a little more work but it pays off when you can run a Form by itself during development instead of having to crank it up from the beginning of the project every time.
Believe it or not, Scot is actually smarter then he looks... (g)
