>If the app resides on a network, then standardization, for the purposes of >maintenance, is highly desirable. I've got around 40 apps to maintain (in >FPW and being ported to VFP 5.0) that are at 7 different locations, both >here in the states and overseas. I would have gone bonkers (some say I >already have) with standardized directories. I could have written this (and the rest of the message) - I agree completely. We have had a couple of installations where we simply forgot the docs and the proper directory names, and made them offhand, with just a couple of letters different from (our) standard. Adding another app to such a tiny little mess takes at least half an hour longer than it should. In some of such cases we took the time to straighten up the directory names, and called it maintenance :). Well, it is maintenance, isn't it?
