Why not remember all of the column widths in a
grid.colwid[grid.columncount] array, and when scrolling past the
rightmost visible column, set the width of the 6th, 7th... column to 0,
and on scrolling (tabbing?) left from the, say, 9th column, restore the
8th to its original width from the array. Could work, eh?
