I hope you didn't think I was being critical...I just haven't used parameterized views much and so have had the luxury of offering alternative sort ordesr w/o too much additional overhead. However, I'll be using views more and more in the future and hadn't picked up on this issue before (which is why I'm reading "view" threads alot). So, I was just picking your brain...I understand and do discuss options and their affects w/ users!
