I think the most interesting (psychological) aspect is that VB suffers the same inferiority complex VFPers do WRT C++ and VB programmers take a lot of shots, deserved or not, for being not so hardcore, and that the community is going to have an interesting ride of the next few years.

I like .NET and I especially like C#, but I don't think it's for the faint-of-heart. Nor do I really buy the "make it (web apps, whatever) easier" mantra that's being touted. I think it makes developing apps for C++ coders much easier, but not for VBers.

Not to mention there's a whole lot of unproven technology in it. But, it'll be a fun project, and I envy that you have a .NET application in your lap. *g*
