I have found that string functions do not work, generally returning nulls (nothing) or other inaccurate value rather than the expected return value. ex. AT(chr(0), mystring) returns zero although the value is at location 76. STUFF(), STRTRAN(), and other functions that I have tried, also return useless values.
I use CHR(0) to represent the null character in my functions. Attempting to cut and paste the character clears the clipboard but pastes nothing.
