Steve;

When Visual Studio 6.0 was released I had a coupon to send in to get that preeminent web development tool Visual J++, as it was not ready when Visual Studio 6.0 was first released. I still have my coupon, as I do not use Visual J++, my preference being JavaScript. At the time I recall I thought it was strange that the smallest and simplest tool included with Visual Studio 6.0 was not ready for release. Perhaps everything had to be done first or development of Visuall J++ was much more complex than we realize. There may have been legal issues with Sun that we are not aware of.

I know this specific problem will not recur with the release of Visual Studio 7.0 as Visual J++ is being dropped. Shipping dates can be more important than a product working well or even being included in the box.

Tom
