Sorry to bug you Bruce. I found another thing that causes this and I wanted to attach it to this thread.

If your install doesn't write any files to the AppDir directory, you'll get the 824 Move Object # errors. To prevent it, make your TEMP folder the AppDir and make a small txt file there. The problem will wonderfully vanish.
