The sample code you listed will only work in MapObjects 2.1 and not the light version MapObjects LT 2. The DataConnection object for example is not included in the light version. Right now MapObjects LT is in my client's price range where the full version is not. It's too bad that ERSI doesn't have more stuff on their web site with MapObject LT examples. Also, while translating the VB code is fairly easy, it would be nice to see some more VFP examples. Oh well!

In any case, my original problem was that the extents were not where I thought they were, and I was looking at the white margins of the shape file.
