Hi!

Do you run it under MTS? If yes, MTS use its own authentification.

>Built a little VFP7 MTDLL, registered it on my NT4/SP6a server, and tried to instance it from ASP. I got this error:

>.init c:\inetpub\wwwsites\wwwsitetest01\ttdelinq\main.prg Error in line 25 File '\\gershwin\timetrak\datarep\ttreporter.dbc' does not exist. 1
>/ttdelinq/ttdelinq.asp, line 23

>My workstation, the web server, and the file server gershwin are all on the same LAN segment and all in the same NT4 domain. I authenticate to the web server before the page loads, so I know I have network credentials (and the page is running as me and not IUSR) to get to the DBC on the remote server.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
