That's not the case if the table has a primary key. In that case, you get a more serious error (1567 - primary key invalid) and VFP won't open the table. So, you won't be able to simply recreate the indexes under that condition. Fixing this type of problem is pretty ugly, hence the reason thousands of developers use SDT <s>.
