The way how General field works is mostly determined by the OLE Application server used to work with the file of that type (JPG).

What about saving the path to JPG file in the character field and just load and show image on the fly using that path in the Picture property of the Image control? VFP Image control in VFP6 and higher can show JPG images. If you want than edit image, in the double click of the Image control add code to append general in the temporary cursor and show form with OLE Bound control for editing.

>I would like to store thumbnail JPG images in a DBF general field. Append general does the job. I was hoping that if I used LINK clause, it would keep the FPT size down. But after opening the memo fields and viewing the General field images, the file size grows again. Is there a way to store image links and keep file size down?
