Please do not shout! Did U try SET TALK ON? I remember an article in one of the VFP rags (FoxPro Advisor, I Think) that covered this topic in depth. I also think they have a site that may have previous articles. U may want to look into it. I also recommend that U do not have any functions in your SQL that impede the process. U always want to make Ur SQL stuff fly like the wind. A wait window before the SQL stating that the program is processing is usally sufficient and users understand. Present the users with an option if SET TALK does not work. U can have a status bar but the cost is a slower SQL. HtwH.
