Hi!

I guess no. When you open table with no buffering - definitely it will save memory. Buffering modes take memory to store values, though 2-d and 3-d take little of memory anyway.

This question is much more complex as for a sngle thread. WEB srver could work in different processes for different users. VFP app can work as COM object under MTS etc etc. There are no a generic approach to evaluate performance for each particular case. Just make a simple test program and compare. There are also a lot of articles with recommendations and analisis, however, I feel like I'm more quick in making test program that test what approach is better than in the readin articles.

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
