My thinking on this has swung wildly.

First I thought, I know I can do this, let's just get on with it.

Then I thought whoa, think about the legal issues. Need to talk with a lawyer, for sure.

My thinking now, from a purely practical standpoint is that you're right, the money I'd earn for doing the job is unlikely to be worth the hassle. However, that means I'm losing the client for sure (a small client, not a big deal - but nevertheless...)

OTOH this is something that *must* happen literally every day somewhere - there must be both legal and practical precedents on what to do.

If only there was www.howtofireanemployee.com ...
