George,
I agree this is something I do not want to do. This is slowly driving me absolutly MAD. However.... let me try to explain. I can handle the OSs other than NT/2000/XP. My users do not know much beyone how to click a mouse, much less set up a form size on a printer driver. I absolutely have to be able to print custom form sizes on printers (without user interaction) which have the misfortune of being located on these God forsaken operating systems. This is all part of a grand scheme - woe is me the day that I came up with it - to be able to design, create and print complex legal documents under the hand of ignorant , uneducated , unmotivate I should stop now and just say users! If it were just NT and 2000 I could probably get away with what you suggest but XP is going to be on consumer machines in the next few months and we HAVE to make this invisible.

Our uses typically have to print 15 or so documents to close a deal. Many of these are expensive and hard to come by contracts. I cannot rely on them to make correct decisions other than choose the form , put it in the printer and hit the print button.

Wheh! Take a breath. Is there some way to do what you suggest programatically ?

By the way, you dont offend me. I think of myself as the typical Foxpro programmer. I have not been trained nor do I understand the inner workings of the COMPUTER. I rely of guys with the background and knowledge like yourself when I have to deal with these things. Give me a database and let me set up a scheme to gather analyse and report data. I am a businessman that programs. It just does not seem right that something (printing) which should be simple should be soooooo complex. I remember the promise - let the system hide and handle the complex things for you. Turn your printing over to the print spooler! The whole world does not fit into 8.5 X 11 pieces.

By the way I think we would be willing to pay someone to write a class, dll or exe that would do what needs to be done. There must be others out there in the same fix that would be willing give up some $ not to have to descend into API hell.

Thanks.
A problem is a problem only as long as it has a possible solution. Lacking that, it becomes a FACT!
