It depends on your cluster size. Large HDs have large cluster sizes. A 1KB file can tag an entire 32KB cluster as used. If you have a *LOT* of small files your HD may appear to be full, even though it is not. You can use PCMagic to reduce your cluster size, but that will increase disk activity loading big executables. It's a trade off.

That's interesting. I don't think I have a lot of 1KB files, but I've never looked.

Another possibility is that your Register is getting too deep on some of its control registrations. RegClean could clean out Win95 registries, but I don't know if a Win98SE RegClean exists. You can always do what Microsoft tech support folks recommend: reinstall Win98SE.

Craig reccomended RegClean, so either he mis-read the OS I listed, or it exists somewhere. I've never heard of it, so I'll have to do a search. As I said in another part of the thread, I'd rather not do a complete reinstall right now.

(Or, you can install Linux! :)

Write me linux drivers for my hardware and linux versions of all my software, and sure. :)

Thanks,

Michelle
