I'm pretty sure my video card won't work under linux. Same for my smart media reader. Not sure about the rest.
You lost me on the second part... I have no desire to become an independent consultant and this is my home computer, anyway, so VFP isn't a factor. By software, I mean video capturing software, picture editors, newsgroup robots, IRC clients, etc. There may be linux equivalent software for some or all of what I use, but I really don't want to start using a whole new set of software.
Thanks,
Michelle
>Unless you are using WinHardware (WinModems, WinPrinters, etc..) no problem with the hardware. Software is another problem. As an independent consultant, however, the choice of software is up to you. There is always a market for a skilled craftsperson. But, don't count on MS releasing a version of VFP for Linux. Kylix or KDevelop or Glade or Visual Age for Java (IBM) or Forte (SUN) or Pick or many other GUI-RAD dbms tools... but not VFP. :(
