>I wanted to thank everyone for their response to my question. Here in the Midwest there is very little client-server work much less any Foxpro work, so most of us have to have multiple languages in order to keep working. The company I am at is finally beginning to move off of square one and they are leaning towards Delphi 3.0. Some of the reasons for the change are the very ones mentioned by many people of lack of support or help from Microsoft help files, technical support, etc. Many times I have reported bugs to Microsoft only to be told by the support people that there are no plans to fix the bugs and those bugs are still there after several patch release or version releases. Another reason is the speed and size of the distibutable created.

Rebecca,
There are companies looking for Foxpro & VFP people in the midwest too! Check out the Newsgroups and here too, there are openings, if you feel like moving a little..

I for one am now just looking, since the company I work for, is being bought and the future here in Washington does look solid (they are from Lousiana, not where I want to go, now or ever!!)

Also, tell those who are deciding on Delphi to think about this.. The future of Borland is not so bright, plus the fact you will have to start over from scratch on any applications, versus having some what of a codebase from FP to VFP applications work..

Thanx!
