For Access check FAQ section (also for Excel).
For Excel depends on how and what you want to import.
-Import
-Append from (has bug documented on cases)
-Automation Excel.SaveAs dbaseIII format and open directly
-Automation Excel.SaveAs CSV, delimited format and append from
-Automation Excel get ranges of data
-Automation with VFPCOM to bind events (ie:place a button on excel and control its click from VFP)
