COM+ is actually different than COM and the two are not the same. COM+ are component services - COM+ Applications, Queued Components, COM+ Events and the entire concept of COM objects hosted in COM+ Application container...

.NET actually relies on COM+ for its scalability features, and it's process hosting services, so COM+ at least is alive and well. And since COM+ is based on the COM subsystem - there's no chance any of COM will go away anytime soon.
