Thanks for your reply, Mark. I understand what you are getting at ... and it may be related to the problem or help me in the right direction.

The odd thing is that there is no TRIMming at all ... nor any other functions being used. I can't make the problem occur on another PC that has VFP on it. It is specific to the newly rebuilt notebook.

Can you think of something I may have done wrong during the re-install that might cause this one area of VFP to be goofed?
