pardon for jumping in ... and you may or may not encounter this or
even care, but i'd offer an observation about spell checking with word,
in general.

i started with one spell checker, and it didn't work very well,
then used word and got it working, and it worked great ... by itself.
the troubles i encountered, occured when the user wanted to use word for something else while the foxpro app was still running. one problem, was
that the example i based mine on, recommended positioning the word window
way offscreen (to hide it). when the user explicitly started word,
it would not appear (because it was already instantiated off-screen).
they would have to maximize it from the start bar. we use outlook
and document manager, so whenever they looked at documents, it also
started up word. and if they explicitly closed the word window, the
foxpro object pointed to a non-existant process.

thought word would be a good choice, because it was a free spell-checker,
but for me, not worth the hassle. ended up using VisualComponents spell checker active-x. not a problem in sight.

just for what it's worth...
