>Has anyone experienced file corruption with VFP6 and Windows 2000 professional? I have a problem where a .scx file will be corrupted and when you type MODI FORM [form].scx the command completes but nothing appears. Issuing MODI FORM ? and selecting the form has the same effect. This only happens on one form.

If you do a search here there have been a few threads on this. The most common culprit seems to be W2K running on an IDE hard drive with disk caching enabled. If you are forced to shut down the machine improperly then files you have worked on in VFP may not be saved - or overwritten with garbage - even if you exited VFP long before (up to hours, reportedly). Although I never seemed to get a really straight answer here (Mike Stewart seemed to be on top of this issue) it looks like W2K SP2 addressed this issue. Certainly, these reports have tapered off since it became available.

The other possibility is infection with an I-Love-You type worm/virus, a side effect of which is to overwrite the contents of .SCT files (which it thinks are script files).
Regards. Al
