The Tax Commissioner is an appointed position filed by the govenor. I've seen dept heads get demoted for being too arrogant and/or abusive of workers or citizens. We have personality problems here, for sure, but they are usually handled one-on-one. Nebraska a great place to live and state government is a great organization to work for. (And I was born and raised in Denver, CO).
