That's what's doing it. PACKing the grid's RecordSource closes it. When you rip the grid's RecordSource out from under it like that, it loses its mind.

Why do you have to pack it? Why not just have deleted set on? All you have to do is move the record poionter in the grid's RecordSource after you delete the record in order to have it disappear from the grid.
