We need more information. I'm thinking that the client machine can "see" the server. When I use the QA to access a server that is stopped, I get the following message:

[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Would you please post the exact error message that you're seeing?
