Non VFP application does not support automation, hence original problem.

By determining path to VFP application, then

SET DEFA TO &lcAppPath && Non VFP application
! /N or WinAPI call to non VFP application
SET DEFA TO &lcOldPath && VFP application

It may be an initial filesearch on first time run of VFP pplication, save to TABLE.field, followed by IF FILE(TABLE.field) etc subsequently on initialising VFP application.

IF FILE(TABLE.field) unsuccessful, (user deleted or other reason), search again, and save to TABLE.field.
