!! That's interesting.. What if there is an intermittent connection when the computer is running? Would this not lead to possible data corruption? But it reminds me also - Sometimes even if a connection looks okay, you may have to disconnect and reconnect a cable/connector or reseat a card (PCI or ISA cards) for them to gain proper contact again.
