Hi Mal -

One thing you may want to consider: A consideration when doing updates is what happens if you change the data structure of a table? You need to change the structure of the client's table (and perhaps the views that use it) without hurting the data. This can, of course, be done programatically but not cost effectively when there is a tool like Stonefield Data Tools available. If you aren't familiar with Stonefield, i suggest checking out www.stonefield.com. Doug Henning, the auther, has created an incredibly useful tool which takes a lot of the anxiety out of updating applications at the user sight (as well as dealing with a whole lot of other issues) Very useful information on the site.

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin
