Is there any way to prevent a disbled control from dimming?

Background: I have a custom control class (a container with a label and two textboxes) that is used on several forms. In one instance this control needs to be disabled. However, the users want the label to remain as if it is enabled --the textboxes are not a problem. I thought I could adjust the disabled forecolor of the label but that did not do it.
