Not enough shares to influence Borland's decisions, but enough money to help them stay afloat. A free marketplace and level playing field...eh,eh...
Think of it as a sea battle between two ships. One has lost most of their sails, supplies and ammunition. Why? Their supplies didn't match the fittings of the boat, made by the other combatant, who constantly "upgraded" changes into them.
