I completely take your point. I think the reason I got started was when debugging the actual report form I found it easier to have these variables defined as public in memory, so that I could work on the report from from the command line. I've probably been guilty of doing this since, oh... FoxPro 1.0 for DOS.

I'm not sure why I still use them as Public, except for General Sloth, even though I always attempt to release after I'm done. --- L
