If you got a job programming and you know nothing about programming, sounds like you should have gone into sales... Well. Looks like he does know a little about programming (COBOL and C++), but nothing about VFP.
It is good to see an employer take a risk and hire someone with no experience in a certain language, and I wish Josh all the best of luck. At least he gets to learn VFP and not VB.
Was actually how I started. I Got hired and had to support and bug fix a FoxBase program and I never touched base with FoxBase at all. Had studied some dBase II by myself years back, but my boss took the risk and hired me, even though I didn’t have any work experience as a programmer. All I had to show for was that I had been programming on computers since 12 years old, and my major project was coding on MUD’s on the Internet. Now I’m programming VFP and love it. Still working for the same company after almost 5 years.
